Gong Seung Yeon, whose birth name is Yoo Seung Yeon, is a South Korean actress. She is the older sister of singer Yoo Jeong Yeon from TWICE. She first trained as a singer under SM Entertainment after winning the "Best Looks" portion of the SM Teen Best Contest in 2005. She later quit when she lost interest in singing. In 2012 she started appearing in minor roles in dramas as well as commercials. In 2015, the relative newcomer drew mainstream notice when she joined the fourth season of the Korean reality show We Got Married, where she was paired with singer-actor Lee Jong Hyun.
She won multiples awards including, "New Star Award" at the 2015 SBS Drama Awards, "Rookie of the Year" at the 2016 SBS Entertainment Awards, "New Wave Award" at the 2017 Asia Artist Awards, "Best Couple (with Seo Kang-jun)" at the 2018 KBS Drama Awards, "Actor Award in Korean Competition" at the 2021 Jeonju International Film Festival Awards, and "Best New Actress" at the 2021 Blue Dragon Film Awards.
She also sang an OST for the film "My Dream Class", Like a Star (with Yoo Jeong-yeon), in 2018.
