Doh Kyung Soo, better known by his stage name D.O., is a South Korean singer, actor, and member of the South Korean-Chinese boy group EXO. D.O. has been singing since primary school and was an avid participant in local singing competitions throughout his high school career. In 2010, he was recommended to audition for S.M. Entertainment after winning at a local singing festival. He subsequently became an S.M. Entertainment trainee during his last two years of high school.
D.O. made his acting debut in the movie "Cart". He also sang the OST "Crying Out" for the movie. D.O. was ranked number one by critics among 40 idol-actors who participated in dramas in 2014. Later in 2014, D.O. made his small-screen debut playing a supporting role in the SBS drama It's Okay, That's Love. D.O. was praised for his performance and was later nominated for the Best New Actor award at the 51st Baeksang Arts Awards.
D.O. enlisted for his mandatory military service on July 1, 2019. On the same day, he released the single "That's Okay", a song that he co-wrote, through the SM Station project. D.O concluded his service on January 25. 2021.
In 2020, D.O. made his musical theater debut in a rerun of the original military musical Return: The Promise of the Day, playing the role of Seungho.
D.O. has been selected as one of the 200 actors (100 males and 100 females) to feature in the Korean actors 200 campaign, run by the Korean Film Council (KOFIC).
D.O debuted as a soloist in July 26, 2021 with the release of his first extended play titled "Empathy" and its lead single "Rose”, becoming the sixth EXO member to have debuted as a solo singer.
